HR 3962 – Affordable Health Care for America Act
November 4, 2009
As part of my commitment to transparency I am pleased to provide the latest information on health care reform and I urge you to participate by reviewing the documents below.
On October 28, 2009, House Democrats introduced HR 3962 – the Affordable Health Care for America Act. HR 3962 is a modified version of HR 3200 – America’s Affordable Health Choices Act of 2009. HR 3962 includes modifications designed to expand the universe of individuals who can enter the health insurance Exchange in its early years, and expand access to the Exchange for small businesses.
On November 3, 2009, Speaker Pelosi officially posted the “Manager’s Amendment,” which is part of the legislative process as we move toward a vote in the House. The Speaker wants to ensure transparency in the legislative process and has agreed that there will be no vote on the bill until the legislation, including the Manager’s Amendment, has been posted for seventy-two hours. The clock has started ticking; we are hours away from ensuring quality, affordable health care for nearly all Americans.
