“Mac Continues to Come Through”
Although US Representative Mike McIntyre lives in Lumberton and spends his time in Washington, DC, he has been diligent in maintaining close connections with his constituents in Pender County.
Over the past year Rep. McIntyre has worked to gain federal support to very specific needs in the area. He successfully found federal funds for Pender County fire departments, for the county’s beach nourishment and inlet dredging programs, and for the Pender schools telecommunications equipment.
The support of the county’s fire department will result in better fire protection and lower fire insurance for the homeowners and businesses in the county.
The successful support for Topsail Beaches sand needs and the dredging of Topsail Inlet and Banks Channel will mean a stable tourism economy and a safer boating environment. These are all activities that are key to the area’s economic success.
Rep. McIntyre’s successful support of federal funding, over $1 million, for infrastructure and telecommunications connections for Pender County schools will go a long way to offset the rising cost of education that Pender count tax payers face.
Rep. McIntyre has served his constituents diligently since 1996 and in the past 12 years has proven to be an excellent voice in the U.S. Congress for the needs of our area.
Rep. McIntyre has made regular visits to our area to listen and understand the needs of our area.
He will be in Pender County on Jan. 24 at the FSA Office, located at 801 S. Walker in Burgaw, beginning at 4:30 pm. The public is invited.
