Rep. Mica attended the Suburban Women's Club Federated Elephant Stampede in Longwood.

Rep. Mica attended the St. John's County Republican Headquaters grand opening.

Rep. Mica was interviewed on the "Living on Earth" program on National Public Radio, in regard to his support of the Amtrak re-authorization.

Congressman Mica spoke to members of the NIAF (National Italian American Foundation).

Rep. Mica attended the Florida Chamber Foundation and Children's Campaign Reception.

July 9, 2008

As the Ranking Member of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, Rep. Mica participated in a Highways and Transit Hearing on the topic of the impacts of existing laws and regulations for truck weights and lengths.

As a member of the Oversight and Government Reform Committee, Rep. Mica participated in a hearing regarding the manufacturers of FEMA trailers and elevated formaldehyde levels.

Congressman Mica met with New Jersey Senator Frank Lautenberg to discuss High Speed Rail and Amtrak.

Rep. Mica participated and spoke at the groundbreaking ceremony for the Clyde E. Lassen State Veterans Nursing Home in St. Augustine. This new facility will serve aging veterans from throughout the region.

Rep. Mica met with members of the University of Florida's Student Government Association to discuss the form and function of the U.S. Government.

As the Ranking Member of the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, Congressman Mica participated in a tele-video conference with the Western Business Roundtable to discuss the Clean Water Restoration Act.

Rep. Mica attended a Railroads, Pipelines and Hazardous Material Subcommittee hearing on the issue of pipeline security.

June 24, 2008

Rep. Mica conducted a meeting with members of the FAA (Federal Aviation Authority) and Florida NATCA (Ntl. Air Traffic Controllers Association) to discuss controller staffing and other issues.

Rep. Mica addressed a "Roundtable" meeting with the Travel and Tourism Caucus and industry leaders on the importance of tourism for the U.S. economy.
