The funds will be used for non-federal technical assistance staff on New Jersey farms and to address urban and suburban neighbor complaints. The technical staff develops and oversees implementation of least-cost conservation practices to reduce non-point sources of pollution, to protect water quality in streams and rivers and to enhance wildlife.

The Marucci Center for blueberry and cranberry research and extension serves as a national center for providing information and research to ensure the continued production of high quality blueberries and cranberries. The center develops new cultivars, which enhance economic sustainability, develops environmentally sound insect and disease management technologies, identifies health attributes of these native crops, and investigates new and value-added uses.

Gypsy Moth Pest Management

The funds will be used to support and enhance gypsy moth control on affected communities and public lands. Funds will also be used to cost share aerial treatments borne by local municipalities and for outreach in developing a web-based interactive online map showing the distribution of gypsy moths in New Jersey and proposed treatment areas.
