The funds will be used for the rehabilitation of two historic buildings in the Forth Hancock Historic District for use as an administrative facility, visitor center and museum collection storage facility at the Sandy Hook Unit of Gateway National Recreation Area. The funds will help ensure that the project is completed in a timely fashion.

Gateway National Park - Repair of Historic Gun Batteries

This project will address critical health and safety, resource preservation and visitor access needs at the park's three most significant historic gun batteries, which date from between 1890 and 1905. The project would repair deteriorated concrete and rusting elements and remove vegetation. Work would also be done to rehabilitate walkways and viewing platforms to provide visitor access in and through the batteries.
