June 23, 2004 - Capitol Hill Press Conference

Reps. Jim Ramstad (R-MN) and Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) announced with the National Organization on Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (NOFAS) the formation of the new Congressional Caucus on Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders to call attention to the problem of prenatal drinking and to develop new education and prevention initiatives at the federal level.

Also, at the press conference NOFAS unveiled a recent report entitled, "Pregnant Women and Drinking: The Continuing Epidemic". This report analyzes national and state-by-state data on binge drinking and chronic alcohol use by women of child-bearing age.
