Washington, D.C. — Speaker Nancy Pelosi issued the following statement today commending President-elect Obama’s Cabinet nominations:
“President-elect Obama has selected an outstanding cabinet that has the intellect, experience, and dedication to deliver real change for our nation.
“The President-elect’s nominees include extraordinarily talented public servants from every corner of our country: distinguished members of the House of Representatives like Hilda Solis and Ray LaHood, and the Senate, such as Hillary Clinton and Ken Salazar; experienced governors such as Bill Richardson and Janet Napolitano; and leaders with records of honored service at the highest levels of the executive branch, including Eric Holder and Bob Gates.
“I look forward to working with the President’s entire Cabinet to address the urgent issues facing our nation, including the creation of millions of jobs, the restoration of our economic leadership, and the strengthening of our security.”
