Washington, D.C. – Speaker Nancy Pelosi issued the following statement after the Commission on the Prevention of Weapons of Mass Destruction Proliferation and Terrorism released its final report, titled “World At Risk”:

“There is no greater urgency in protecting the American people than addressing the threats posed by weapons of mass destruction proliferation and terrorism. The report of the bipartisan commission lead by former Senators Bob Graham and Jim Talent is a reminder that despite some progress, the risk associated with these weapons, and the technologies from which they come, continues to grow.

“Dealing with that risk effectively must be a matter of first priority for the next administration and the new Congress. Our efforts will be helped substantially by the Commission’s excellent work.”
