Pelosi Statement on Resignation of Congressman Frank Ballance

Washington, D.C. -- House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi released the following statement today on the resignation of Congressman Frank Balance of North Carolina:

"On behalf of House Democrats, I thank Congressman Ballance for his service, his leadership of the freshman class, and his commitment to his constituents. I am greatly saddened that his health will not permit him to complete his term of office and am praying for his health to recover.

"I look forward to working with the next Democratic representative from North Carolina's First Congressional District."
