Once again the Administration is sending a mixed message to the Chinese regime about the importance of Hong Kong's democracy. The same day that the Administration said it would promote democratic reforms in China in other than trade, news is released that the U.S. Consul-General to Hong Kong will be attending the swearing-in of Beijing's hand-picked legislative body. I'm gravely disappointed at the Administration's lack of resolve on behalf of the people of Hong Kong.
