Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) today praised Kate Shindle, Miss America 1998, and congratulated her on her new position with AIDS Action. "As Miss America, Ms. Shindle was a courageous and passionate spokesperson for America's young people," Pelosi said. "I am very pleased Ms. Shindle will be joining AIDS Action to continue her advocacy for adequate prevention funding and rational prevention policies.
