Human Rights

Americans enjoy the right to worship freely, speak freely, to vote freely, and protest freely. We have had these freedoms for so long, we often take them for granted. In Burma, North Korea, Iran, and many other places, speaking your mind could cost you your life. I believe that every person is created in God’s image and has inherent dignity.

It is the duty of every free person to fight for the freedom of every unfree person. That does not mean we should go to war with every tyrant in the world. But it does mean that we as Americans should—through our government and as individuals—speak up and challenge tyranny everywhere we see it, whether it is in the Sudan, Cuba, or Vietnam.
