Life and Bioethics

We live in an age when the definition and meaning of life is hotly debated. Questions of life are not just questions for philosophers, they are important questions of public policy. My own belief is that every human beings has inherent worth and inherent dignity, regardless of race, gender, age, or ability.

I believe life begins at conception. We have a moral and civic duty to protect those who are voiceless and defenseless—the unborn. Taking someone’s life because we don’t regard their life as valuable takes the dignity away from our own lives as well. Life is a gift. It is precious, and it need to be defended.
