For Immediate Release Congressman Pitts Receives ‘Spirit of Enterprise’ Award from U.S. Chamber of Commerce Washington–- Congressman Joe Pitts’ (R, PA-16) today received the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s “Spirit of Enterprise” award for his strong support of pro-economic growth policies in the first session of the 109th Congress. “Joe is a leader who has fought for legislation to spur job creation, increase productivity and keep our economy growing,” said Chamber President and CEO Thomas J. Donohue. “We’re proud to present him with this award on behalf of America’s businesses, both large and small.” The Chamber awards the Spirit of Enterprise based on rankings it gives Members of Congress for key business-related votes. “While I’m honored by the U.S. Chamber’s recognition, the greater privilege has been the opportunity to take a stand in Congress for the men and women of America’s businesses who work hard to keep the engine of our economy running strong,” Congressman Pitts said. Congressman Pitts has compiled a lifetime rating of 94 percent with the Chamber. For the first session of the 109th Congress, the Chamber scored 27 House votes as key votes, including votes on class action reform, bankruptcy reform, repealing the death tax, and a comprehensive energy bill. ### |
