Congressman Pitts Announces Congressional Art Contest Winner

Washington – Congressman Joe Pitts (R, PA-16) today announced this year’s winner and runners-up of the 25th annual Congressional Art Contest.  The contest, called “An Artistic Discovery,” is an annual nationwide Congressional high school art competition sponsored by the Congressional Arts Caucus and initiated by Members of the U.S. House of Representatives in their districts.  This is the 9th year that Congressman Pitts has sponsored the competition in Pennsylvania’s 16th Congressional District.

“Every year I’m impressed by the wonderful entries we receive, and this year is no different,” Congressman Pitts said.  “As an amateur artist myself, I was delighted to have the opportunity to review all of the entries, and I congratulate every student who took the time to participate.”

This year’s winner is Paul Sullivan of Lititz.  Sullivan is a junior at Warwick High School. His entry, entitled “Hammer of the Gods,” was selected as the overall winner from Congressman Pitts’ district.  Sullivan’s work will receive the honor of being displayed for one year on Capitol Hill where thousands of visitors from around the country can view it.

The following students were selected as runners-up and will have their work displayed in one of Congressman Pitts’ offices for a year:
