“Hyde was a true statesman”

Washington– Congressman Joe Pitts (PA-16) issued the following statement on the death of former Congressman Henry Hyde:

“Henry Hyde was a legislative hero to many people, including myself.  My thoughts and prayers go out to Mr. Hyde’s family,” Congressman Pitts said.  “Representative Hyde was many things, including a constitutional scholar, a historian, a deliberative legislator, and a gifted orator.  In my mind, he will be remembered as a man of principle who stood for liberty, justice, and, above all, respect for life.  Henry Hyde was a true statesman.”
