Order a Flag Flown over the U.S. Capitol

All members of Congress are allowed to request that an American flag be flown over the Capitol on behalf of their constituents. If you would like to purchase a U.S. flag flown on your behalf over the Capitol, and you—or the recipient of the flag if it is a gift—are a constituent of the 19th Congressional District of Pennsylvania, Congressman Platts can help. Orders for flags to be flown over the Capitol normally require 4 to 6 weeks for processing, longer in times of high demand.

Flags may be flown on any day of the year and for special occasions or events. Each flag flown over the Capitol is accompanied by a certificate. The certificate reads:

“This is to certify that the accompanying flag was flown over the United States Capitol on [Month, Date, Year] at the request of the Honorable Todd Russell Platts, Member of Congress.”

You may also request additional text personalizing the certificate (i.e., birthday greeting, retirement, Eagle Scout award, etc.).

Please use the form on the following page to specify the flags and certificate information you want, then print the resulting order request for mailing.

Remember, to order flags, you either must be a resident of Pennsylvania's 19th Congressional District, or send the flags to a person who is. This form will confirm that at least one of the addresses is in our district.
