PLA walkers

John Falk of York recently organized a walk from York to Washington to protest Project Labor Agreements (PLAs), which are collective bargaining agreements that last only for the duration of a construction project.  Opponents of PLAs argue that they discriminate against non-union construction workers and put smaller construction firms at a disadvantage when competing for government contracts.  I met with Mr. Falk and other citizens when they reached the Capitol to deliver a petition with thousands of signatures opposing PLAs.  I am the cosponsor of legislation to rollback an Obama Administration Executive Order that encourages the use of PLAs on large projects receiving federal funds.
