Armed Services Advocacy Group Honors
Pryce with its “Golden Eagle Award”

Columbus, OH – On Friday, January 19th, Congresswoman Deborah Pryce (R-Columbus) was honored by the Armed Forces Community Relations Council (AFCRC) with its “Golden Eagle Award” during its annual awards dinner at the Columbus Maennerchor.  Pryce was recognized for her accomplishments on behalf of veterans in her district.

“To receive this award from the Armed Forces Community Relations Council is such a profoundly meaningful honor,” said Pryce. “Officeholders have no greater responsibility than to provide for our servicemen, our veterans, and their families.  I consider it to be the highest and nonnegotiable imperative among my duties in Washington.”

The AFCRC is composed of veteran advocates from central Ohio, and each year honors members of the community who have fought for the interests of the service members the AFCRC represents.  The Council is widely recognized for its ability to effectively communicate with lawmakers on issues impacting our local armed forces community.

Throughout her tenure in Congress, Pryce has worked to ensure that our nation’s veterans’ needs are met.  Over the past decade in the U.S. House, Pryce has helped to double the amount America spends on its veterans, and Pryce’s strong voting record on veterans’ issues has helped boost veterans’ medical care spending to record levels.

Pryce has also remained at the forefront of local efforts to protect and enhance our area’s veteran and military infrastructure.  She was an integral part of a team that helped to save the jobs at the DSCC from the BRAC Commission, and the Whitehall facility is now expected to gain more than 500 new jobs.  Additionally, she worked with the central Ohio delegation for the new Chalmers P. Wylie Veterans Affairs Ambulatory Care Center -- a 295,000 square foot, state-of-the-art outpatient facility to be centrally located near DSCC.
