Pryce Welcomes New Hedge Fund Guidance

Washington, DC -- Congresswoman Deborah Pryce (R-Columbus) released the following statement today in response to the President’s Working Group on Financial Markets’ (PWG) announced set of principles and guidelines regarding private pools of capital, including hedge funds:

“I applaud the proactive steps the President’s Working Group on Financial Markets has taken in issuing guidelines for hedge fund participants. The principles outlined today are a good first step toward giving clear direction to market actors and regulators. I agree with the Working Group that the regulators’ continued role must be to promote market discipline on hedge funds and ensure proper risk management is being followed. I look forward to the House Financial Services Committee conducting a thoughtful examination of the benefits and risks posed by hedge funds in the coming months.”

Pryce is the Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Capital Markets, Insurance, and Government-Sponsored Enterprises of the House Financial Services Committee.
