Pryce Statement on the Passing of Congressman Paul Gillmor

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congresswoman Deborah Pryce (R-Columbus) issued the following statement:

“Congressman Gillmor was a dear friend and a remarkable legislator, and Ohio and the nation will miss his steady and competent leadership.  His life was dedicated to the service of others, as a Viet Nam veteran and as an effective voice for northwestern Ohio in both the Ohio Senate and in Washington.  It is impossible to replace his four decades of public service or his passion for improving the lives of those he represented.

“He was a uniquely thoughtful representative, who consistently sought common-sense and practical solutions to the issues under debate in Congress.  I will sorely miss his counsel and insights as a colleague, but more importantly, his impeccable virtues as a friend.

“My heart goes out to his wife Karen and five children for their tragic loss.”
