Hails First Female Supreme Court Justice As “Symbol Of Limitless Possibilities”

WASHINGTON, DC - Congresswoman Deborah Pryce (R-Upper Arlington), a former judge, issued the following statement honoring Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor in the wake of her retirement:

“Sandra Day O’Connor is an American original who leaves an indelible mark on American jurisprudence.  A pioneer for American women in law and in all fields, Justice O’Connor will long be remembered for not only shattering the glass ceiling but also for her refreshing political independence.

“Justice O’Connor paved the way for women in law, and was a personal inspiration for me.  As a former judge, I understand the sacrifices and hard work she had to endure, because years ago women in the legal field were an anomaly.  O’Connor is a symbol of limitless possibilities and as one our finest jurists, she will serve as an inspiration for generations.”
