Pryce Welcomes the Prime Minister of Spain
Washington, D.C. –
Congresswoman Deborah Pryce (R-OH-15) welcomed the Prime Minister of
Spain, José Maria Aznar, along with
Members of Congress, and Members of the Bush Administration including
Vice President Dick Cheney, Secretary of State Colin Powell, Secretary
of the Commerce Don Evans, Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge, and
CIA Director George Tenet at the House Chamber this morning.
Congresswoman Pryce
applauded the Prime Minister’s message of commitment between the United
States and Spain and thanked him for being a strong ally in Europe.
“Prime Minister Aznar spoke eloquently of our countries’ shared
commitment to end terrorism, support the mission in Iraq, and foster the
transatlantic link between our homelands,” said Pryce.
Congresswoman Pryce
was selected to serve on Prime Minister Aznar’s escort team, a
responsibility she also carried out recently for President Bush when he
delivered his State of the Union address. “Welcoming the Prime Minister
of Spain is certainly a privilege. I believe I share the thoughts of my
colleagues, when I say that we look forward to strengthening America’s
solidarity, friendship and commitment to democracy alongside our Spanish
ally.”
Congresswoman Pryce
represents the Fifteenth District of Ohio, which includes Western
Franklin County, Madison, and Union Counties. She serves as Chairman of
the House Republican Conference for the 108th Congress, making her the
fourth ranking member of House Leadership.
