Pryce Applauds Approval of Congressional Budget

Washington, D.C. Congresswoman Deborah Pryce (R-OH-15) voted today for the approval of the Congressional budget for the United States Government for FY2005 and made the following statements: 

“This budget fully funds our nation’s priorities, and it does so while cutting the deficit in half within four years.  It holds the line on spending and sends a clear message to taxpayers: we are spending your money wisely on this nation’s priorities.

                       “We are a nation at war, in the midst of an economic recovery.  The FY 2005 House  Budget continues to support policies that promote job creation and economic growth.  As       Ohio’s economy continues to rebound, this budget meets domestic needs and address   sses    wasteful government spending by holding government agencies and departments accountable.

“Fiscal discipline is not just a good idea.  It is an economic imperative.  The FY 2005 budget strengthens our national security, grows our economy, and creates opportunity for every American—all while maintaining strict fiscal control.  

            “This budget moves our country along its current track towards a strong national defense, sound economic growth, and opportunity for all Americans.

Congresswoman Pryce represents the Fifteenth District of Ohio, which includes Western Franklin County, Madison, and Union Counties.  She serves as Chairman of the House Republican Conference for the 108th Congress, making her the fourth ranking member of House leadership.  The Congresswoman also co-chairs the Cancer Caucus.
