CONGRESSIONAL ART COMPETITION
Each year, the House of Representatives holds an art competition to recognize distinguished student artists by displaying their artwork in the halls of the US Capitol. The event is called "An Artistic Discovery," and each Congressional District selects one piece of student artwork to display in the Capitol. The competition is headed by a panel of judges in each District, and the winner is awarded an opportunity to travel to Washington DC, meet with his or her Member of Congress, and attend an award ceremony. Congressman Hall's art competition is open to all high school students residing within the 4th District of Texas.
Congressman Hall is pleased to announce that the 2008 winner for the 4th District of Texas is Audey English from DeKalb High School. The title of his artwork is "Walking Up."
If you are interested in entering the competition for 2009, please review the information below, which contains answers to many commonly asked questions. Congressman Hall's Office in Rockwall oversees this competition, and entries are typically due by the beginning of April but are subject to change on an annual basis.
