WASHINGTON U.S. Rep. Jim Ramstad (R-MN) last night voted for the FY2001 Budget Resolution.
"This budget pays off the entire federal debt by 2013, locks away 100% of the Social Security surplus, cuts taxes, reforms Medicare, provides prescription drug coverage and prioritizes education, defense and medical research," said Ramstad.
"This innovative budget has the nations priorities right in this new era of budget surpluses," said Ramstad.
Ramstad is a member of the House Ways and Means Committee, which will consider the tax relief, Medicare and Social Security elements of the plan.
