RAMSTAD RECEIVES BETTY FORD LEADERSHIP AWARD

WASHINGTON – U.S. Rep. Jim Ramstad (MN-3) was awarded the “Betty Ford National Leadership Award” for 2003 by the National Association for Children of Alcoholics at its annual meeting in Washington.

In presenting the award to Ramstad, NACA President Julie Fisher Cummings said, “We deeply appreciate Rep. Jim Ramstad’s leadership in promoting the country’s growing recovery movement, bringing hope and healing to thousands of children and families.”

In accepting the award, Ramstad said, “This award is especially gratifying because it honors a great leader in the struggle for treatment and a true inspiration in her recovery, former First Lady and my friend Betty Ford.”

“I am truly humbled to receive the Betty Ford National Leadership Award,” said Ramstad.
