RAMSTAD SUPPORTS ECONOMIC GROWTH PLAN
Ways and Means Committee member Jim Ramstad (R-MN) today called on Congress to quickly pass President Bush’s economic growth plan to put people back to work.
"Too many people have lost their jobs and are hurting, and Congress must act now to help the unemployed and jumpstart the struggling economy," said Ramstad.
"I am pleased both the House and Senate passed an extension of unemployment insurance benefits to assist those who have lost their jobs, and now Congress must act to stimulate our stagnant economy and create new jobs," said Ramstad.
"The President has proposed a bold, balanced and fair plan to grow the economy and create 2.1 million new jobs," said Ramstad.
"The President’s growth plan will stimulate Main Street and Wall Street, which will put more money in the pockets of investors and consumers, enable small businesses to create more jobs and boost stock values," said Ramstad. "Over half of Americans are shareholders, and over half of the taxpayers who would benefit from eliminating the double taxation of dividends are seniors."
"The President’s economic growth plan is good for Minnesota taxpayers, jobs, families and unemployed workers," said Ramstad.
