Ramstad to join President Reagan’s doctor at news conference on Alzheimer’s Disease research
WASHINGTON – U.S. Rep. Jim Ramstad (R-MN) will join Dr. Ronald Petersen, Director of the Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center at the Mayo Clinic, and other Alzheimer’s Association representatives in releasing a new research study and urging Congress to increase Alzheimer’s NIH research funding.
Other members of Congress will also participate, including Sen. Kit Bond (R-MO) and Rep. Mike Simpson (R-ID).
Ramstad’s mother, the late Della Mae Ramstad, a former patient of Dr. Petersen, died from complications of Alzheimer’s last year.
“My beloved mother died a long, cruel death from Alzheimer’s Disease, and Congress and the President need to hear the pleas of the 4.5 million families living with Alzheimer’s,” said Ramstad.
The news conference will be held at 9:00 a.m. this Wednesday, June 23, in Room 192 of the Dirksen Senate Office Building.
