Touring the Capital

It is a long way from Arizona to Washington, but it is important for the people of the First Congressional District to see the great halls of our nation's government with their own eyes. Washington presents a unique environment to learn about the history of our founding and those who built it. Please take advantage of all that the city offers and make sure to stop by my office, rural Arizona's place in Washington, to say hello.

If you are interested in touring Washington, please contact Melissa Middlesworth with my office at least three to six months in advance, listing the tours you would like to take. You can contact her either by phone at 202-225-2315 or email: Toursaz01@mail.house.gov We will do our best to accommodate all groups, but the sooner you contact our office the more likely you will receive tickets for the dates that you desire.

Please be sure to indicate the dates of your trip to Washington, the size of your group, the particular places you are interested in visiting and full contact information including street address. My office can provide you with detailed information about almost any tourist site in the area and, in many cases, can arrange for special tours of popular attractions, such as the U.S. Capitol, the Library of Congress and the U.S. Bureau of Engraving and Printing.

Because of security concerns, the list of places open to visitors is always changing. Please be patient and understand that my staff is working to make your trip as fulfilling as possible.

Below I have listed a number of links to popular attractions around the capital and sites that can provide helpful hints and ideas for visiting Washington. These are valuable tools, especially for those who have never been to the capital before. I look forward to seeing you in D.C.!
