Support Our Troops

I am proud to support the men and women who serve in the military. Please be assured that I am doing everything possible to assist and honor our troops who put their lives on the line every day.

I voted for the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2008. The House version provides for a 3.5% pay increase for all military personnel and rejects any new TRICARE fees or premiums. The bill also included an additional $4.1 billion for Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) Vehicles to help protect our soldiers from Improvised Explosive Devises in Iraq and Afghanistan. I am also working hard with my colleagues in the House to secure more funding for traumatic brain injuries.
