Rothman Aims to Help North Jersey Residents

(Hackensack, NJ)—Congressman Steve Rothman (D-NJ) wants residents of the 9th Congressional District to know that they can contact his office for assistance or answers to questions of any kind, saying that "no problem is too small or too large for me and my caseworkers to help you solve."

Worried that your passport won't arrive in time? Confused by Medicare paperwork? Wondering where your Social Security benefits are or where the nearest veterans' facility is located? Trying to open a small business? Applying to a military academy? These are just some of the matters on which a Congressional office can lend a hand.

If you visit Washington, D.C., Rep. Rothman's office can also assist you with scheduling tours for various tourist attractions in the nation's capital. Some popular attractions include the Capitol Building, White House, Supreme Court, Bureau of Engraving and Printing, and the State Department.

"Dealing with federal agencies can be overwhelming and at times frustrating. But before you give up on a problem or service you may be able to use, I urge you to call my office. We will do whatever we can within our power to help," said Rothman.

While some individuals already know to contact their local Congressman for help when dealing with federal agencies, many others do not. And that lack of awareness can lead some residents to miss out on government services that exist to help them. "My office can aid in cutting through the red tape," states Rothman.

He has public offices in Hackensack (25 Main Street, Hackensack NJ; 201-646-0808), Jersey City (130 Central Avenue, Jersey City, NJ; 201-798-1366), and Washington, DC (2303 Rayburn House Office Building, Washington, DC; 202-225-5061). You can write, call, visit, or email him through his website. Rothman also hosts Listening Sessions in all of the towns he represents each term so that you can express your views and ask any questions you may have, in person.

Rothman represents the 9th Congressional District, which includes 37 towns in Bergen, Hudson, and Passaic Counties. They are: Hawthorne, Bogota, Carlstadt, Cliffside Park, East Rutherford, Edgewater, Elmwood Park, Englewood, Englewood Cliffs, Fair Lawn, Fairview, Fort Lee, Garfield, Hackensack, Hasbrouck Heights, Leonia, Little Ferry, Lodi, Lyndhurst, Maywood, Moonachie, North Arlington, New Milford, Palisades Park, Ridgefield, Ridgefield Park, Rutherford, Saddle Brook, South Hackensack, Teaneck, Teterboro, Wallington, Wood-Ridge, Jersey City, Kearny, North Bergen, and Secaucus.
