Rep. Rothman with New Jersey Peace Activists

(Washington, DC)—On Monday, January 29th, Congressman Steve Rothman (D-NJ) met with peace activists from New Jersey Peace Action and the Rail Division of the Teamsters to discuss ways to stop President Bush's escalation of the Iraq War and get all U.S. troops out of Iraq. Specifically, they talked about Congress' legislative options moving forward and Rep. Rothman's new role on the Defense Appropriations Subcommittee, which oversees all national defense spending, including spending on the Iraq War.
