Hundreds of residents braved the cold to participate in the annual event, which funds programs and services for more than 350,000 New Jerseyans and their families who are affected by Alzheimers and related diseases.
We must do everything possible to find a cure for Alzheimers and to help those suffering from this devastating condition. Thankfully, the Alzheimers Association, Greater New Jersey Chapter is on the job, advancing research and providing invaluable assistance for families and caregivers of those with Alzheimers. I proudly support the Alzheimers Association and applaud the tireless efforts of those who come out for Memory Walk year after year, said Rothman, who hosts the event annually with WNBC-TV Anchor Pat Battle.
This year, the Alzheimers Association held three walks in New Jersey to enable residents to participate one in Point Pleasant on September 29, another in Princeton on October 7, and Sundays walk in Paramus. Every dollar raised stays in New Jersey to help residents living with Alzheimers.
Memory Walk is the only national fundraiser for Alzheimer's disease and the Association's major community fundraising event of the year. Held in the Fall, Memory Walk brings together business and community leaders, healthcare professionals and families all walking in support of local programs and services for individuals affected by Alzheimer's disease.
Nationwide, Alzheimer's affects around four a half million Americans and it is estimated that the number of individuals with Alzheimer's will grow to at least 11 million by 2050.
