What are Medicare Prescription Drug Plans (Medicare Part D)? |

Medicare offers prescription drug coverage for everyone with Medicare, called Medicare Part D. To receive Medicare prescription drug coverage, an individual must choose a Medicare drug plan and pay a monthly premium. These plans are offered by insurance and other private companies approved by Medicare.

Enrollment is open November 15 through December 31 of every year, and you can enroll online at: www.medicare.gov

Talk to your doctor and share your concerns. If you are still not satisfied with the decisions made or the answers you receive, MetaStar can assist you in protecting your Medicare rights.

Your County Senior Benefit Specialist, often called “Red Tape Cutters,” is an individual trained to help older individuals who are having problems with their private or government benefits. They can help anyone over the age of 60 who:
- Wants to know more about any private or public benefit.
- Needs help in organizing the paperwork to apply for benefits.
- Has been denied a benefit they think they are entitled to receive.
