Environment
As
an avid outdoorsman, a clean environment and strong
conservation programs are very important to me.
I
believe that environmental protection can go hand in
hand with our efforts to expand our economy. I am
working with my colleagues in Congress to develop
legislation that is based on sound science and will
aid us in our effort to promote a clean environment.
It is one of my top priorities to continue balancing
growth with stewardship. In order to ensure the
continued protection of our environment, the House
passed H.R. 1495 with my support. H.R. 1495,
the Water
Resources Development Act of 2007, gives the
Army Corps of Engineers (the Corps) the
authorization to study water resources problems,
construct and design necessary solutions, and
provide updates to Congress on the progress of these
activities. I will closely follow the Corps actions
to ensure the continued protection of our nations’
water sources.
