WASHINGTON – First District Congressman Paul Ryan today welcomed Reverend
Jerry Pruitt of Faith Builders International (formerly known as the New
Ark Christian Center) in Beloit to the U.S.
House
of Representatives as Guest Chaplain. This morning, Reverend Pruitt gave
the prayer that opened the session of the House.
"It's wonderful to have Pastor Pruitt with us today," said Ryan. "His opening prayer set the perfect tone for the day's work, and Members of Congress appreciated his thoughtful guidance."
In the opening prayer, Reverend Pruitt asked: "Our Heavenly Father,
…We ask for Your presence to be here as this very important session of
Congress opens today. We know that we need Your wisdom here today. These
servants to the American people want to do what is right and just…." The
complete text of his prayer has been included in the Congressional Record.
