RYAN ANNOUNCES JANUARY LISTENING TOUR SCHEDULE Discussions to Center on Strengthening Social Security and Reforming Medicare with Prescription Drug Coverage
WASHINGTON -- First District Congressman Paul Ryan today unveiled the schedule for his January 2001 Listening Tour in which he will visit 34 communities throughout Southern Wisconsin. Ryan will be traveling throughout the First District during the last half of the month of January to gain the views and insights of area constituents, and to discuss issues that he plans to work on in the 107th Congress this year.
Specifically, Ryan is seeking input on efforts to protect Social Security, pay down the national debt, and provide prescription drug coverage as part of Medicare.
“This tour will give me the chance to meet personally with as many First District residents as possible,” said Ryan. “In the coming year, Congress will be tackling many issues critical to Wisconsin residents. So it is very important for me to have the input of the people I represent. The concerns and ideas that we discuss in these listening sessions will help me to advance legislation that will benefit those who live and work in the First District.”
