First District Congressman Paul Ryan today announced that his constituent services centers in Wisconsin will remain open during regular business hours to address constituent inquiries.
Ryan's Washington, D.C. office, like all other offices at the U.S. House of Representatives, will be closed from Thursday October 18 through Monday, October 22. All House office buildings will be undergoing a precautionary environmental sweep to make certain no anthrax is present, and staff cannot be in the buildings during this process. Ryan's Washington office is expected to reopen on Tuesday, October 23. In the meantime, from tomorrow through Monday, phone calls to Ryan's Washington office main number will be automatically routed to his Janesville Constituent Services Center.
Ryan emphasized that this environmental sweep is simply a wise precaution at this point, and he repeated his request that First District residents contact him by phone, fax, or e-mail, rather than by regular mail, if possible. Due to heightened security and additional screening of incoming letters and packages, mail addressed to Ryan's Washington office will be subject to delay.
Over the next few days, constituents who would like to contact Paul
Ryan or a member of his staff can use the following numbers:
| Janesville Constituent Services Center – | Ph: 608-752-4050 | Fax: 608-752-4711 |
| Kenosha Constituent Services Center – | Ph: 262-654-1901 | Fax: 262-654-2156 |
| Racine Constituent Services Center – | Ph: 262-637-0510 | Fax: 262-637-5689 |
