Ryan to Join in Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony at Kenosha VA Outpatient Clinic
Wisconsin’s First District Congressman, Paul Ryan, will take part in a ribbon-cutting ceremony Monday, September 30th at the new Kenosha VA community-based outpatient clinic, a project that Ryan fought to keep on track. The clinic will provide primary medical care and preventive health services to veterans, in addition to mental health services.
In months past, when the project was put on hold and cancellation was a possibility, Ryan contacted the U.S. Secretary of Veterans Affairs, Anthony J. Principi several times to make the case for the clinic. The Secretary intervened, and the project moved forward.
"The opening of the VA clinic is welcome news for southeastern Wisconsin veterans," Ryan said. "A lot of people worked very hard to make sure this clinic would become a reality, and I’m looking forward to checking out the facility firsthand on Monday. This will mean better access to affordable, quality health care for area veterans – something that is greatly needed."
Recently, the North Chicago Veterans Affairs Medical Center announced that there would be an "open house" at the Kenosha VA outpatient clinic on Monday, September 30th, from 9am to 12pm, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony that will take place at 9:30am.
