House Approves Resolution Honoring
WWII Veterans
Ryan
Offers Assistance to Those Visiting Washington, DC
WASHINGTON
– Today, as the U.S. House of Representatives unanimously approved a
resolution honoring the service of America’s World War II veterans, First
District Congressman Paul Ryan offered assistance to Southeast Wisconsin’s
World War II veterans and their families who are planning to travel to
Washington, D.C. later this month for the dedication of the National World War
II Memorial.
“If
veterans and their families are planning trips to Washington to see the World
War II Memorial, I hope they’ll call our Washington office to ask about
setting up tours of the U.S. Capitol building and other assistance we can offer
them,” Ryan said.
“They should also feel free to stop by the office for information,
maps, or simply to say hello to other Wisconsinites.
Our office is like an embassy for residents of the First District, and I
hope they will let us know if they need help with anything during their stay in
Washington.”
People
who live in Wisconsin’s First District and will be traveling to Washington can
contact Ryan’s Washington office for assistance with tours or other requests
by calling 202-225-3031.
Those with internet access can also visit the website to fill out a tour
request form at www.house.gov/ryan/tourrequest.htm.
Today,
Ryan voted for H. Con. Res. 409, which passed the House by a vote of 422-0.
This resolution resolves that Congress recognizes with humble gratitude
the more than 16 million veterans who served in the United States Armed Forces
during World War II and the Americans who supported the war effort on the home
front and celebrates the completion of the National World War II Memorial on the
National Mall in Washington, D.C.
