Racine’s
Mark Ladd Testifies before Social Security Subcommittee on which
Congressman Ryan Serves
WASHINGTON
–
Today Wisconsin’s First District Congressman Paul Ryan, who serves on the
Subcommittee on Social Security of the Committee on Ways and Means, introduced
Racine resident Mark Ladd to the subcommittee.
Ladd, Racine County’s Register of Deeds and Public Sector Co-Chair of
the Property Records Industry Association Privacy/Access workgroup, was there to
testify at a hearing on enhancing Social Security number privacy.
“It
was a privilege to be able to introduce someone from our area to my colleagues
on the Social Security Subcommittee,” Ryan said. “I know it helped them to
hear from an authority like Mark Ladd on this critical issue.
Identity theft robs victims of more than their money.
It can hurt their credit, tarnish their good name and take away their
peace of mind.
Making sure that Social Security numbers are truly secure is one key to
preventing this increasingly common crime.”
