Ryan
Receives Guardian of Small Business Award
WASHINGTON
– The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), the nation’s
largest small-business group, has named Wisconsin’s First District Congressman
Paul Ryan a Guardian of Small Business.
NFIB
awards this honor to Members of Congress based on their voting record on behalf
of small businesses.
For the House of Representatives, NFIB tallied twelve key small-business
votes taken during the 2003 and 2004 sessions of the 108th Congress
on issues ranging from tax relief to affordable health care to liability reform.
To earn recognition as a Guardian of Small Business, representatives must
have voted favorably on key small-business issues at least 70 percent of the
time.
NFIB
President and CEO Jack Faris praised Rep. Ryan for “taking a stand” for
small business, citing Ryan’s 100 percent NFIB voting record.
“Rep. Ryan is a stalwart champion of small business, having stood
strong on the key small-business votes in the 108th Congress,”
Faris said.
