Transcript: Social Security Privatization Is Not an Option

“Privatization is not an option. I think we have to make sure that we solidify and protect Social Security. I understand there are problems in the future. I don’t think there is a real crisis at hand now. So, we need to start working in a bi-partisan way to try and get the issues addressed. I don’t think we have to do it this year alone. We will continue to work on this issue. I do not support privatization, because I know it will impact our recipients by lowering their benefits by 40%, and I do not think that is an option.”
