Dredging Begins in Barnegat Bay to Clear Sand from Oyster Creek - TOMS RIVER, N.J.- Barnegat Bay will be made safer for boaters this summer as maintenance dredging is starting on a section of the frequently-used Oyster Creek Channel near the New Jersey Intracoastal Waterway (NJIWW), just northeast of Waretown, according to Congressman Jim Saxton (NJ-3rd).

Saxton to DoD: Nation Needs New Tankers; Find the Way Forward for the KC-X Aerial Refueling Tanker Program - Washington D.C. --- Today, the House Armed Services Air and Land Forces Subcommittee held a hearing to examine the Department of Defense’s way forward for the KC-X aerial refueling tanker program. On July 9, Secretary of Defense Robert Gates announced his decision to re-compete the program following a highly critical report from the Government Accountability Office (GAO). Rep. Barnegat Inlet to Land $600K-plus for 2009 Channel Maintenance - TOMS RIVER, N.J.- Barnegat Inlet will receive maintenance funding in the 2009 budget to keep the inlet clear from shifting sands, as will the well-traveled New Jersey Intracoastal Waterway (NJIWW), according to Congressman Jim Saxton (NJ-3rd).
