Members depart Washington for the annual Fourth of July recess.

July 8, 2008
Members arrive from around the country to reconvene Congress.

July 9, 2008
In the morning, Cong. Saxton, a Senior Member of the Armed Services Committee, meets with colleagues to hear testimony on an update of U.S. efforts to develop and support the Iraqi Security Forces.
Lt. Gen. James Dubik, commander of the Multinational Security Transition Command for Iraq, and Christopher Straub, Deputy Asst. Secretary of Defense for Middle Eastern Affairs.
Later, Mr. Saxton meets with House Leadership to discuss renewable energy tax credits.
Afterward, Cong. Saxton and Cong. Smith meet with AF officials to discuss CyberCommand.

July 10, 2008
Cong. Saxton, a Senior Member of the Armed Services Committee, meets in full committee to discuss the threat of electromagnetic pulse (EMP) attacks.
Cong. Saxton, Ranking Member of the Air Land Forces Subcommittee, meets with the subcommittee to hear Air Force testimony regarding the KC-X tanker program.
