Cong. Saxton meets with staff from the House Armed Services Committee's Air Land Subcommittee, of which he is Ranking Member, to discuss the FY2009 budget for the Army National Guard, Army Reserve equipment issues.
Cong. Saxton meets with Ocean County residents who are associated with the Independent Insurance Agents of NJ to discuss insurance issues.

April 2, 2008
In the morning, Cong. Saxton, the Ranking Member of the Joint Economic Committee, attends a JEC hearing with the Economic Outlook, with guest witness Ben Bernanke, chairman of the fed.
Later, Mr. Saxton meets with the House Armed Services Committee's Air Land Subcommittee staff, of which he is Ranking Member, to discuss military issues.

April 1, 2008
In the morning, Cong. Saxton meets with the President of the Board of Education of New Hanover, NJ, Rick Slater. Superintendent Terri Sacket, and othe officials.”
Also planned is a meeting with the NJ Assn. of Homes and Services for the Aged, to discuss federal health care and senior housing issues.
Later, Mr. Saxton meets with the full House Armed Services Committee's Terrorism and Unconventional Threats and Capabilities, of which he a senior member, to discuss terrorism issues with expert witnesses.
In the early afternoon, Mr. Saxton sits down with members of the National Assn. of Postal Supervisors to discuss federal legislation to improve the USPS.
Afterward, Cong. Saxton meets with the Superintendent of North Hanover, NJ Schools, Dr. Richard Carson, to discuss impact aid to schools effected by military families.
In the late afternoon he meets with NJ and national leaders from the American Legion.

March 21-28, 2008
Members depart Washington for the annual Easter recess.

Members took up HR 1424, Paul Wellstone Mental Health and Addiction Equity Act. The measure PASSES, 268-148, Mr. Saxton votes aye.
In the morning, Cong. Saxton, Ranking Member of the Joint Economic Committee, attends a JEC hearing of “The Future of the Federal Workforce.”
Later, Mr. Saxton meets with the full House Armed Services Committee, of which he a senior member, to discuss Navy issues.

March 5, 2008
Congressman Saxton meets with the National Assn. of Letter Carriers to discuss postal issues.
In the morning, he attends a hearing of the Special Operations Command and U.S. Central Command.
Later he meets with the NJ Realtors Assn. to discuss the real estate market, followed by a meeting with NJ hospital officials.
