May 5, 2006 During a ceremony on the front steps of the Truman Presidential Library and Museum, the City of Independence presented the Harry S. Truman Award for Public Service to Congressman Ike Skelton (D-MO).
The award is given annually to an outstanding public servant who best typifies and possesses the qualities of dedication, industry, ability, honesty, and integrity that distinguished Harry S. Truman in his years of public service. The Harry S. Truman Public Service Award Commission makes the selection each year. TOP
