This is Congressman Ike Skelton.

In light of the Marine offensive in the Helmand Province of Afghanistan, I call on all Americans to renew our focus on the Al Qaeda terrorists and their supporters, the Taliban.

Our National Guardsmen, many of whom are our neighbors, and our active duty troops are engaged in serious conflict with those who would cause us serious harm, such as what the Al Qaeda terrorists did on 9/11.

Let's continue to be proud of those in uniform who serve the people of our country with courage and with honor. And, when you see them when they return, give them a word of thanks.
