WASHINGTON, D.C.-United States Representative Vic Snyder (AR-02) announced that the Military Installations and Facilities Subcommittee of the House Armed Services Committee voted today to fund projects benefiting the Little Rock Air Force Base in Jacksonville and the Pine Bluff Arsenal.

The subcommittee report recommends that Little Rock Air Force Base and Pine Bluff Arsenal receive nearly $50 million in funds for the following projects:

  • Improve Fuselage Trainer Facility, LRAFB, $2.5 million
  • Engine Storage Facility, LRAFB, $2.1 million
  • Maintenance Trainer Facility, LRAFB, $8.1 million
  • Two Bay Hangar, LRAFB, $12.9 million
  • Air National Guard, Operations and Training Facility, LRAFB, $5.1 million
  • Non-Stockpile Ammunition Demilitarization Shop, PBA, $18.9 million

"This is a great first start for Little Rock Air Force Base and Pine Bluff Arsenal in this year's appropriations process," Congressman Snyder said. "There are more hurdles to clear, but today's recommendation shows the continued commitment to these Arkansas facilities by the Department of Defense and Congress."

The Military Installations and Facilities Subcommittee report will next have to be approved by the full House Armed Services Committee.
